Heinrich Siesmayer (1817 - 1900), a well known landscape architect and creator of the Palmengarten in Frankfurt, designed the park on nearly 15 acres, modeling it after the English parks. On August 20, 1909, in the presence of the German Emperor, Wilhelm II, the opening ceremony of a convalescent home for the officers of the imperial army takes place. Now seven buildings in the English manor style comprise the new, in a half-circular fashion arranged complex. These buildings are all connected with each other through underground paths. 90 years later there is again time to celebrate a ceremonial opening. Since 09. September 1999, the property shines beautifully as an international luxury hotel, carefully restored and refurbished. Granting of the Five-Star-Superior Hotel distinction by the Deutschen Hotel- und Gaststaettenverband (DeHoGa;German Hotel and Restaurant Association).
